When installing artificial turf on soil, it's important to have quality tools and materials to make the job easier. In addition, physical safety must be maintained at all times, so we recommend wearing gloves.

Tools needed

- Shovel or rake to remove natural grass and level the ground.
- Brush to style your new artificial carpet once you have finished the installation.
Artificial turf installation
1. Clearing the land
The first step in installing artificial grass on soil is to prepare the ground. If you want to install it on natural grass, you must first remove the entire layer of vegetation: both weeds and natural grass.
Once you have completed this work, we recommend applying some type of herbicide to prevent weeds from growing back under the synthetic grass and spoiling the new surface.
2. Application of gravel and sand
To achieve the flattest possible surface, we recommend filling the area with gravel. A layer of 3 to 5 centimeters will suffice. This very thin layer will allow us to level the ground and improve drainage for our artificial turf.
3. Leveling and compaction
Once the gravel or sand has been added, it's advisable to compact it as much as possible. A roller or compactor can be used for this purpose. The goal is to achieve a flat and firm surface.
4. Installation of the geotextile
The next step is to lay the geotextile over the entire surface. Geotextile is an essential mesh for installing artificial turf on soil. Its main function is to prevent natural grass from growing back and damaging the synthetic turf in the future. Additionally, in case of heavy rain, the geotextile mesh prevents mud from rising to the surface.
5. Installation of the lawn
It's time to unroll the artificial turf . The direction of the fibers in all the rolls must be the same to ensure the synthetic grass looks correct. Trim and clean up any rough edges if necessary.
To join different rolls of artificial grass, use joining tape and special glue for artificial grass.
6. Grass securing
Once the previous steps are completed, it's time to properly secure the artificial grass to the ground. Use special galvanized staples to fasten the synthetic turf around its perimeter
7. Repriming with silica sand
Finally, fill with silica sand for a much more comfortable feel underfoot and a more natural look. The sand will also help the artificial turf stay in place.
