Installation of artificial turf on concrete or cement
1. Preparing the ground on which to place the artificial turf
The main advantage of installing artificial grass on concrete or cement is that the ground is already prepared. The surface is smooth, there are no weeds, and the ground is already level.
The only thing we need to consider is the drain, so that when the artificial grass is watered or it rains, it can drain properly. In this case, the drain area can be trimmed or cut into a U-shape (like a lid) to lift it in case of heavy rain.

2. Place the artificial grass on the cement
It's important that we've accurately measured the area we want to cover with the artificial grass. If you have a garden with an unusual shape, we recommend taking a look at our article "Custom Artificial Grass: How Many Square Meters Do I Need?"
When laying artificial grass rolls, it's important to consider the direction of the fibers. All sections should be laid in the same direction for optimal and natural- looking results . Therefore, when purchasing artificial grass , we recommend calculating for 10% more material than needed . Any leftover scraps from cutting may not be usable elsewhere.

3. Cut the rolls of artificial grass
Once we have everything prepared, it's time to unroll the 2-meter-wide. We mark the cuts we need to make and, using a utility knife and a ruler, we make the cut, always from the backing.
It's important to remember that the end of the artificial carpet must be trimmed to achieve a good result. This step is crucial, so it's best to do it slowly and carefully, following a straight line to avoid cutting too much and ending up with a crooked finish.

4. Fixing the artificial turf onto the concrete or cement
To join the artificial grass sections together, you can use self-adhesive joining tape or joining tape with special adhesive for artificial grass. Leave a half-centimeter gap so that the seam between them is not visible. Once this is done, it's time to apply the joining tape.
If you choose self-adhesive joining tape, slowly peel off the backing paper and gradually attach the artificial grass sections. If you choose the simple joining tape option, place it between the two rolls. Lift the corners and apply adhesive to the tape. The final step is to attach each roll of artificial grass, leaving the appropriate gap between them.
You can apply a few dots of glue around the perimeter to keep the artificial grass from shifting. Remember, you don't need to glue the entire surface, just the perimeter.

5. Topdressing with silica sand and final touches
The final steps in installing artificial grass are to brush the synthetic turf against the grain to raise the fibers and spread silica sand. Although the latter is optional, we recommend it for artificial grass over 30 mm high to ensure good resilience after foot traffic.

Hello,
I'd like to install artificial grass and ceramic tiles in geometric patterns in my garden.
How should I do it? Do I first fix the tiles with cement and then fix the grass around them? Thanks a million!
Yes, the easiest way is to lay the paving stones first and then cut the artificial grass to the shape you need. Thank you.
